I am currently a student studying maths (& further maths), computing and physics at Woodhouse College, and I have been doing web-designing and coding for some years now; though only been trading under the name of Kompact Designs since 2006.
I started web designing semi-professionally when I set up a website for my father in 2004, who is a complementary therapist. Several of his colleagues liked what I had done and asked me to create web sites for them.

I have some experience in Javascript, and developing skills in CGI scripts (Python and Perl) and PHP. In the near future, I will be learning Visual Basic and hopefully other programming languages, while expanding my overall knowledge and experience.
In web designing, I try to strive to use standards (where possible) and open community scripts (e.g. SWFObject). Additionally, I try to teach others how to designing (like I did) by making my code openly available, including server-side scripts - though this is not always possible.
